Her most transformative business chapter began in the early 1990s with the acquisition of an oil prospecting license by Famfa Limited in the deep offshore Agbami field. Through strategic partnerships and sustained legal determination, Alakija secured her company’s interests in one of Nigeria’s most productive oil fields, overcoming a prolonged legal dispute that culminated in a landmark Supreme Court victory. Today, Famfa Oil remains the cornerstone of her wealth, complemented by interests in printing, property development, and other ventures under The Rose of Sharon Group.
