FIFA Approves New Rules Ahead of 2026 World Cup

FIFA has approved several rules that will take effect at the 2026 World Cup which are;

– Substituted players have 10 seconds to leave the pitch. If they take longer, the incoming player will have to wait one minute before entering.

– Players receiving medical treatment have to leave the pitch and wait 1 minute before entering

– Throw-ins must be taken within 5 seconds, else possession will be handed to the opposing team.

– If there’s a clear refereeing error, VAR will now be able to intervene on second yellow cards and on corners
