Euracare Multispecialist Hospital
has sympathised with the Adichie Family over the death of their son.
The hospital, however, rejected allegations of medical negligence following claims by renowned author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, over the death of her son, describing such assertions as inaccurate and unfounded.
The hospital, in a statement, acknowledged the “profound and unimaginable loss” of a child, extending sympathies to the grieving parents and relatives.

The hospital clarified that the child was critically ill before being referred to Euracare, having already received treatment for more than a week at two paediatric centres.
According to the statement, the referral was for specific diagnostic procedures, not initial care.
Euracare stated that upon the patient’s arrival, its internationally-trained clinical team provided care strictly in line with established clinical protocols and globally accepted medical standards, including the use of sedation medically indicated.

It added that external medical teams recommended by the family were involved in the patient’s care and that all necessary clinical support was made available.
Despite these efforts, the hospital disclosed that the patient sadly passed away less than 24 hours after presentation.
The management further announced that it has commenced a detailed internal investigation in line with its clinical governance framework and best practices, while pledging full cooperation with any regulatory or clinical review processes.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, compassion, and patient safety, Euracare said it remains mindful of the family’s grief and will continue to offer support, while allowing due process to take its course.
“As medical professionals, we carry the weight of this loss deeply,” the hospital declared.
