Liverpool kept their perfect Premier League start with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Everton at Anfield

The Reds took an early lead in the 10th minute when Ryan Gravenberch curled in a superb strike, after a through-ball from Mohamed Salah set him up.

They doubled the lead in the 29th minute. Hugo Ekitike got the ball from Gravenberch, ran into the box, and slotted it past Jordan Pickford to make it 2-0.

Everton fought back after half-time. In the 58th minute, Idrissa Gueye scored with a curling shot into the net, following a good build-up involving Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish.

Though Everton pressed and created chances, Liverpool held on. Their defence held firm in the face of late pressure, securing the win and maintaining their perfect league record.
