🔹 Use Ombudsman, Not Police
The editors reminded petitioners to approach the Nigerian Press Organisation Ombudsman on media ethics violations, instead of using police as “tools of oppression.”
🔹 Warning to Politicians
The NGE condemned inflammatory rhetoric by political actors, warning that reckless statements could heat up the polity and endanger national security.
🔹 Focus on Governance, Not 2027
Governments at all levels were reminded that their priority is citizens’ welfare and security, not premature electioneering.
🔹 Call to End Insecurity
The Guild urged urgent action against banditry, insurgency, kidnapping, and herder-farmer clashes to save lives and protect food security.
🔹 Appreciation to Plateau State
The meeting ended with appreciation to Plateau Governor, Caleb Muftwang, for hosting and promoting peace in the state
