The Department of State Services (DSS) has successfully rescued a police officer, Ibrahim Muhammad, who had been held captive for three months after being abducted by armed men in Patigi, Kwara State.
Muhammad, who serves with the Patigi Division, was kidnapped on August 10, 2025. His rescue was communicated to the Kwara State Police Command by the DSS at about 5:00 p.m. on November 9, according to reports by Zagazola Makama.
Sources disclosed that the officer was discovered in a forest where his captors had abandoned him. He has since been handed over to the police command and is reported to be in stable condition.
“He is currently being debriefed as part of ongoing investigations,” one of the sources revealed.
The police have not confirmed whether a ransom was paid or if any arrests have been made in connection with the abduction. However, the command assured that efforts are underway to apprehend those responsible.
The successful rescue has brought immense relief to both the police command and the family of Officer Muhammad, who had been missing for over 90 days.
