My egbon Dele Momodu has written over fifty publications praising Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun. And I do not begrudge him that. But is he saying the situation in Osun is better than the situation at the centre?

The Tinubu administration does not owe salaries and has been paying the wages of federal workers, plus a ₦35,000 wage support and has now increased their salaries to ₦70,000.

However, in Osun State, we read reports of half salaries, workers being owed, and other incidents of hardship on the state workers. Whether those reports are true or false, we do not know. What we know is that Osun is not paying as good as the Federal, unlike Lagos, which has been paying its workers ₦70,000 since February, 2024. This is despite the fact that federal allocation to Osun State has increased by at least 45% under the current administration.

If this were really about the economy, perhaps it would not have been expedient to write over fifty publications praising Governor Adeleke, given the realities in Osun.

If Egbon Dele is going to accuse me, and attack the economy as having collapsed, he will have to do it based on empirical evidence, data, facts, and statistics, as I have done. Not emotions, opinions, and assumptions.

As W Edward Demings said, “In God we trust, all others must bring data.”

I am not an unstable individual. Unlike others, I have been in only one political party in my life, the Peoples Democratic Party, which I have been aligned with since I visited then General Olusegun Obasanjo’s house at Ota, Ogun State, in 1998 until today. I do not jump from party to party. My love is Nigeria, no matter who is in power.

Can those now attacking me make the same claim of being in one party throughout this republic?

However, that does not mean I will see yellow and call it white.

Nigerians should please not be emotional on this matter. Let us focus on the only thing that cannot lie-facts. Emotions will lie to us because they are not stable. But facts are stable.
