You could argue that Davido has the world under his feet. At only 32 years of age, this USA born, Nigerian artist has accomplished so much during his musical career. Now, he feels it is time for him to give back to his fans, and he is going to do it via his 5ive Alive Tour. What made Davido so popular among his fans is the fact that he never took a step away from his Nigerian and African roots. That’s why the hype surrounding the four concerts he will have across cities in Nigeria are attracting so much attention.
It all started with the release of his fifth studio album aptly named 5ive. The record was released on 18th of April, 2025, and it has been a true refreshment on the musical scene. It is a testimony to Davido’s music and all the success he has had so far, and its quality is seen through various collaborations on the tracks which include appearances from the likes of Chris Brown, Musa keys, Victoria Monet, and Becky G among many others. The singles that came from 5ive include Awuke, Funds, and Be There Still.
Once again, Davido proved that his music cannot be pinpointed to a single background, and he did not hide the idea that he wants to grow further with this album and make himself a global presence in the world of music. The album was made across the globe too, as recording sessions took place in Lagos, Los Angeles, and London. Upon its release it received both critical and audience recognition. To commemorate the album and his career so far the Nigerian artists announced a world tour which is already ongoing, and was announced on the eve of the announcement of his Davido partnership with Stake.
The North American tour is slowly wrapping up, as Davido already did concerts in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Minneapolis, Toronto, Laval, Brooklyn, Boston, Philadelphia, and Columbia. The one venue that is left on his North American part of the 5ive tour is Atlanta on 20th of November. Before he goes back to the USA, Davido will have a four stadium tour in Nigeria, in what’s dubbed as the most expected concerts in the history of the country. Davido’s schedule became hectic from the moment he rose to musical prominence and gained worldwide recognition. Yet, he has not forgotten where it all started.
His Nigerian roots are strong and, with three concerts in October, one in November, and two more in December, Davido will show his home crowd what he’s made off. The singer, who recently signed a sponsorship deal with the online casino and sports betting brand Stake, will kick off his Nigerian tour at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium at Uyo, in the Akwa Ibom region. The venue can pack 30 thousand people in the stands, and a few more thousands down on the field when it is used for concerts. The stadium serves as home for the Nigerian Super Eagles, so you can already guess that it holds an important place for all Nigerian people who are in love with both Davido’s music and the sports of football. The first in the series of Davido’s Nigerian concerts is scheduled for October, 18th.
After Uyo, Davido will move his entourage to Enugu. On the 26th of October, he will have a concert at the historically significant Michael Okpara Square. The venue can hold less people than the stadium in Uyo, but it is believed that due to its position and importance to locals, will have a much better atmosphere than any of the stadium performances Davido has had so far inside and outside of Nigeria.
On 29th of October, Davido will sing his heart out at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Adamawa. This open space in Yola does not have an official capacity, so at the moment we cannot state just how many people will be in attendance, and there is no official information on Davido’s website about the number of tickets sold. The last of the first four Nigeria concerts will be held at the Liberty Stadium in Ibadan. The now Obafemi Awolowo Stadium has a capacity of 25 thousands, and it will be a struggle to get a ticket for that concert. This stadium holds a special place in the hearts of all Nigerians as it was the first ever modern stadium built in the country.
After the initial first four concerts which will be held in the following few weeks, Davido will return once more to Nigeria before the year ends for concerts scheduled for 14th of December, at the Eagle Square in Abuja, and on the Christmas eve in Lagos at the Eko Hotel. With the release of his latest album, 5ive, and all of the hits he has amassed from the beginning of his career, Davido certainly has plenty to offer to his audience, not as far as studio albums go, and the same goes for his live performances. We’re sure that we speak for all of his fans when we say that it is impossible to wait for him to perform hits such as Unavailable, Sensational, Fall, Kante, Feel, Know your Worth, Blow My Mind, If, and many others.
While the USA tour so far was a success, and the same is expected from his homecoming in Nigeria, that is not everything as far as Davido’s live performances go. He was already picked to perform at the 2026 Coachella festival. He will be at the Empire Polo Club on two Saturdays, 11th and 18th April. After the impression he left on the audience and the critics during his USA tour it was only the next logical step in his development as an artist and musical career.
The 2025 was a good year for Davido as he is raking up successes both on and off the stage. The Nigerian music star has also become a member of the Grammy voting academy in 2025. The Afrobeats superstar is now officially a member of the Recording Academy with a right to vote, and we all know that this is the organization behind the Grammy Awards. With this honour bestowed upon him, he will now get to decide on the winners of the most prestigious music awards.
Talking about the achievement, and what it means for him to become a member of the Grammy’s voting body, Davido said: ” Understanding the importance of how our voices are heard, I am participating in the GRAMMY Award process. It is a game changer. I have learned that voting empowers you to have a say in what is considered and voted on in each season. I am honoured to be part of the Recording Academy community, and I look forward to voting.”
As far as his musical career is progressing, everything is going according to plan for Davido. Yet, he is not shy to admit that he is also rather successful on the business side of life. While the money comes from his music in terms of albums sold, and Spotify streams, as well from tickets from the packed venues where he performs, Davido also has other ventures, the most notable one being his deal with the worldwide online casino and sports betting brand Stake.
Not long ago, Davido and Stake announced their collaboration. For more than a few months now, Davido has been serving as an ambassador for the sports betting brand, and is an important part of the Stake’s ever growing family. Davido holds a massive influence in the world of music with a strong grip on the African continent and his presence in Nigeria and the surrounding counties is what Stake had in mind when signing him under their wing. He joins the likes of Drake, Alex Pereira, and Frankie Dettori in the diverse echelon of Stake’s ambassadors.
What made him a perfect ambassador for this online casino and sports betting brand is his energy, charisma, creativity, star power, and an influence that goes beyond concerts halls and songs, and is seen through his philanthropy work, charity work, and support he has for those less blessed with generational talent and luck. With someone who always has African excellence on his mind, he is an ideal person to represent a brand that shares identical values in always operating with purpose, looking for progress, and to be a leader in worldwide entertainment. With both Davido and Stake, in their own right, looking to make massive strides and influence changes in the world of entertainment, through community, engagement, and culture the mutual partnership was only a matter of time and we’re happy it has happened sooner than later.
As far as his Nigerian tour is concerned, not much is known about the setlist which will be played. Based on his USA tour, the following songs will find their place at the concerts, as they have been played at almost every venue in America. The setlist includes the following songs: Intro, Anything / Dami Duro, 10 Kilo, Offa Me, R&B, Awuke, Aye, Lately, Over Dem, Stand Strong, Gobe, Skelewu, The Money, Risky, Blow My Mind, Jowo, Sensational, Na Money, For The Road, Titanium, No Competition, DON’T KNOW, Ogechi, Twe Twe, Nuttin Dey, Kante, Fia, If, Fall, CFMF, Holy Water, Ke Star, Champion Sound, Godfather, Hmm, Away, High, Feel, Unavailable, Be There Still, Funds, and With You.
The excitement surrounding Davido’s return to Nigeria grows with each passing day as we only have a few weeks before his first concert. The fans have been eagerly waiting for his return as he has not been performing back at home since his massive Abuja concert in 2023. Since 2019 he has had five global tours including Davido UK Tour with The Compozers, A Good Time North America Tour, WRBLO Tour, Timeless North America Tour, and the current 5 Alive Tour. His latest tour saw him perform at legendary venues such as Toyota Center, Armory, Place Bell, Scotiabank Arena , and Barclays Center.
While the shows in North America have been impressive, as Davido announced that every venue he scheduled was sold out, and the fact was evident now that his NA tour is wrapped up, the real spectacle is expected when he lands in Nigeria in a few days time. At the moment, Davido is the biggest Nigeria music star, and his influence goes far beyond the borders of Nigeria. It is expected that his concerts will have a crowd consisting of both the locals and people coming from across the border to watch him live.
Davido holds a record for the biggest concert ever in Sierra Leone when he performed in front of 50,000 people at the sold out national Stadium in Freetown. Some of his biggest venues during his career include Lusail Stadium, Qatar, O2 Arena, State Farm Arena, Accor Arena, Toyota Arena, Capital One Arena, Scotiabank Arena, and Stade 26 Mars Stadium in Mali. Rare are the artists that can fill the stadiums and arenas at the same rate regardless if they’re playing in the USA, Canada, and England, or Portugal, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, or Mali.
The music that Davido creates transcends nations, and his global reach is unparalleled at the moment. The music he creates is of top quality, unique in the world, and with the charisma and energy of the artist itself it is not wonder that he managed to conquer the world in little bit over a decade that he has spent on the world’s musical stage. The concerts scheduled for Nigerian venues are just the pinnacle of his this year’s tour, and the promotion of his latest album. We are sure that many more great things await us with Davido in coming months and years.
