HYPOCRITES

These are terrible sets of spiritual criminals in the house of God.

WHAT IS HYPOCRISY?

Prov. 30 v 12: “There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.”

DEFINITIONS

  1. Hypocrisy is the practice of pretending to be different from what one really is.
  2. Hypocrisy is the practice of claiming to have standards than is the case.
  3. Hypocrisy is a situation in which someone pretends to believe something that they do not really believe.
  4. Hypocrisy is the behaviour of people who do things that they tell other people not to do.
  5. Hypocrisy is insincerity, deception, deceit, dishonesty, fraud, mockery, bigotry, double-dealing, cheating, craftiness, pretense, dirty dealing, treachery, trickery, and two-timing, falsehood.
  • This is a toxic sin that we must avoid as children of God. Hypocrisy is a great destroyer.

  • To have a better understanding of Hypocrisy; let’s look at these scriptures:
  • 1 Tim. 4 v 1 & 2

v.1 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils”

v.2 “Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron”

  • Matthew 23 v 27 & 29

v.27 “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.”

v.29 “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous”

  • Titus 1 v 16

“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.”

Hypocrisy is:

  1. Deliberate Deception
  2. When you refuse to talk to yourself and confront your wrongdoings.
  3. When you are telling lies with seriousness and perceived sincerity.
  4. When you have a dark area of yourself cleverly covered, you don’t want anybody to see it.
  5. When you are treating your mistakes with leniency.
  6. When you are secretly doing what you ask people not to do.
  7. When you are a graduate of the University of Eye Service.
  8. When you deceive people with your appearance.
  9. When you have dual personalities, one appearance in church and another outside the church.
  10. When you pretend a lot with ulterior motives.
  11. When you are acting spiritual to cover your sins. A clever actor.
  12. When you shed crocodile tears very easily.
  13. When your speech and actions are contrary to one another.
  14. When you take peppermint to quench Tobacco and Alcohol smell.
  15. When you exhibit false humility and you are inwardly dangerous.
  16. When you run down a system where you are earning your wages.
  17. When you speak evil of the church, sending away people and you still remain there.
  18. When you tell lies to cover mistakes and shortcomings.
  19. When your lifestyle is contradictory to what you say.
  20. When people cannot follow you to your church because of your behavior at home, at work, and in your environment.
  21. When you are taking God for granted always.
  22. When you are taking fellow human beings for granted. Looking down on them.
  23. When you suddenly turn against your beneficiaries. Picking faults with them, forgetting their investment in your life.
  24. When you are handsome or beautiful with a twisted and crooked mind.
  25. When you don’t agree with an opinion but are too cowardly to express it and you coast along with mischievous expectations.
  26. When you are engaged in double-dealing. Double standard, dishonesty, deceitfulness, terrible vices, etc.
  27. When you exhibit one leg in church, one leg in the world.
  28. When you relate with people with so much bitterness, grudges, resentment, and malice in your mind undisclosed.
  29. When you are rebellious against the authority and incite others to join.
  30. When you are too artificial with your packaging – fake eyelids, artificial fingers and toes, nails, wearing human hairs, fake bum, fake six-packs – from your head to toe, all fake!

May the Lord have mercy on you.

CONSEQUENCES OF HYPOCRISY

  • Luke 13 v 12 -15

v.12 “And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.”

v.14 “And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.”

Rom. 6 v 1: “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?”

  1. Hypocrisy will diminish your Holiness, Self-esteem, Mental Wellness, Emotional Stability, Courage, Hope and Confidence.
  2. Hypocrisy will mess up your faith, spirit, soul, and body.
  3. Hypocrisy will alter your lifestyle profile permanently.
  4. Hypocrisy will afflict you with spiritual blindness and suspicion of Truth.
  5. Hypocrisy will becloud your sense of reasoning with deception, treachery, legalism, and self-justification with inner pride.
  6. Hypocrisy will confer on you spiritual leprosy and carelessness.

  • 2 Tim. 3 v 1 – 7

v.1 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”

WHAT SHOULD BELIEVERS DO TO CURE HYPOCRISY?

  • 2  Cor. 10 v 12

“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”

  • Luke 11 v 44

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.”

  • Rom. 3 v 13

“Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:”

  • Prov. 26 v 25 – 26

v.25 “When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.”

v.26 “Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.”

  1. Thorough Self Examination
  2. Audit your lifestyle very sincerely.
  3. Accept those areas you are not doing well with a strong determination to change.
  4. Repent genuinely.
  5. Break away from evil association. – 1 Cor. 15 v 33

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”

  • Restitution where necessary.
  • Allow God to have His way in your life
  • Total obedience and submission to the word of God in Praise, Worship, Prayers, giving kingdom service, quality walk with the Lord.
  • A total turnaround from religion and surrendering unto God.
  • Total focus only on Christ who is the author and finisher of our faith.
  • Counseling, Medical rehabilitation where necessary.
  • Thorough Deliverance Prayer Ministration. – Matt. 17 v 21

“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”
