The Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday acquitted former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, of all money laundering charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a decisive ruling, the court upheld a no-case submission by Fayose’s legal team, concluding that the EFCC had failed to present sufficient evidence to justify a continuation of the trial.

Fayose had faced multiple allegations related to fraud and money laundering allegedly committed during his tenure as governor.
