MADRID (SUNDIATA POST) – Clevenard SL has announced that renowned international trade consultant, economic diplomacy scholar, and civic leader, Collins Nweke, will be conferred with a prestigious honorary award at the 2026 edition of the Clevenard Open Project.

The global event is scheduled to hold from August 27 to 30, 2026, in Alicante, bringing together thought leaders, policymakers, creatives, and business stakeholders from across continents to engage on innovation, culture, and sustainable development.

Nweke will receive the award on the fourth day of the event during the Clevenard Global Awards, now in its third edition, in recognition of his contributions to international trade, diaspora engagement, and economic diplomacy.

As part of his participation, the Nigerian-born scholar will also deliver a keynote address on Day 3 at the Global Tourism and International Film Celebration. His presentation, titled “Economic Diplomacy, Cultural Industries & Global Storytelling for Sustainable Development,” is expected to explore how cultural assets and strategic diplomacy can be leveraged to drive inclusive growth and strengthen global partnerships.

A former three-term councillor in Ostend, Belgium, Nweke has built a reputation for championing inclusive governance, economic development, and diaspora integration within Europe and beyond. His work has consistently focused on bridging Africa–Europe relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and policy engagement.

He currently serves as President of the International Association for Research and Strategic Advocacy in Creative Industries and Culture (IARSAC), where he continues to advance conversations around the role of culture and creativity in economic transformation.

Nweke is also the author of the 2026 publication, ‘Economic Diplomacy of the Diaspora’, a work that examines the strategic importance of diaspora communities in shaping global economic relations and national development agendas.

Organisers say his recognition at the Clevenard Open Project underscores his growing influence in shaping discourse around economic statecraft and the intersection of culture, diplomacy, and development.

The Clevenard Open Project has become a notable international platform for cross-sector collaboration, highlighting innovation in tourism, film, business, and global leadership. This year’s edition is expected to further deepen conversations on sustainable development through cultural exchange and international cooperation.
