State House, Abuja – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the appointment of Rotimi Pedro, from Lagos state, as the new director general (DG) of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
The presidency announced the appointment in a statement issued on its official website on X.
According to the statement, the president also announced the appointment of 3 other executive directors into different departments in the organisation.
“President Tinubu Strengthens National Broadcasting, Appoints New NTA DG and EDs,” presidency tweeted.
The new management appointed for the NTA are as follows:

- Rotimi Richard Pedro (Lagos, South-West) is appointed Director-General
- Karimah Bello (Katsina, North-West) becomes Executive Director, Marketing
- Stella Din (Plateau, North-Central) is the new Executive Director, News
- Sophia Issa Mohammed (Adamawa, North-East) assumes office as Managing Director, NTA Enterprises Limited
The statement added that the appointments take immediate effect and reaffirm the President’s commitment to strengthening national broadcasting as a platform for unity, cohesion, and soft diplomacy.
Who is Pedro?
Legit.ng previously reported that Pedro, a Lagos native, is a seasoned media entrepreneur and consultant with nearly three decades of leadership experience in broadcasting, sports rights, and marketing communications across Africa, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East.
A trained entertainment and intellectual property lawyer, he holds an MSc in Investment Management & Finance from City University Business School, London.
Tinubu appoints FCCPC executive commissioners
Legit.ng earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu nominated Louis Odion and Ummasalma Rabiu for key roles at the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
The nominations are subject to confirmation by the Senate in accordance with the provisions of the FCCPC Act, 2018.
Presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the appointments in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

Tinubu appoints governing council for Ogoni varsity
Similarly, Legit.ng reported that on Wednesday, July 30, President Tinubu appointed Prof. Don Mon Baridam as the Pro-Chancellor and chairman of the governing council of the newly established Federal University of Environment and Technology in Rivers state.
Tinubu also announced the appointment of Prof. Chinedu Mmom, a professor of geography, as the vice-chancellor of the institution.
Tinubu also appointed principal officers of federal university in Ogoniland.
