Residents of Gomari airport area of Maiduguri this morning woke up to heavy rocket fire into their community.The  insurgents were said to have misfired the rockets meant for the Nigerian Air Force Base but went into their community causing great havock to some structures. 

Although the Nigerian Air Force was said to be on red alert when the rocket meant for them was propelled into the atmosphere, metrowatchonline.com learnt that the 333 Army Base actually gave the terrorists a  hot chase by firing back at them.•Another set of victims of the attackOther sources around however told metrowatchonline.com that the rockets were actually directed randomly at that axis of  Maiduguri since they stood afar to fire using RPG’s.

“But it misfired and went into 1000 Housing Estate destroying a house even though no life was lost in the damage.“Another one went into Ayafe area of the Gomari airport community by passing the Hajj camp where most of the surrendered Boko Haram members are housed.Sympathizers who woke up to observe today’s monthly environmental sanitation were seen scampering around the general area of 1000 Estate while some gathered in groups talking about the incident.

Meanwhile no word has been heard about the humanitarian workers who were abducted along the Chibok, Damboa axis of the  state.About 15 humanitarian workers have been abducted along the Chibok Damboa road in the last weekOne of them was a worker of the International Medical Corps (IMC), Martha Marlin, a Chibok lady, who was said to be traveling to Mubi to extract her teeth.

She was picked along side the others and taken to the Sambisa Forest by the insurgents who are yet to make any special demands.In another by  PRNigeria, the attack was launched by ISWAP terrorists from Duwari, a village close to Maiduguri.The terrorists fired mortar bombs at the Estate and Airport Road’s communities, the sources disclosed. Several houses were said to have been destroyed, while many residents scamper for safety. A staff of an emergency agency said casualty couldn’t be determined due to sanitation exercise.
