Manchester United have set sights on adding Benjamin Sesko as the final piece of the attacking puzzle this summer.

Having already secured the additions of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha this summer, next on the agenda for Manchester United is a new starting number nine.
Countless options have been considered over the past few months, from Liam Delap to Viktor Gyokeres, but for one reason or another neither panned out and this leaves United in August still searching for a striker.

However, despite Rasmus Hojlund impressing during pre-season, the Red Devils remain fixated on signing a number nine and Benjamin Sesko now appears to be the clear favourite.
Sesko has been made United’s number one striker target this summer, and all indications suggest that the Slovenian also prefers a move to Old Trafford ahead of Newcastle United.
United have been tracking Sesko since 2022, but his signing would not be a guaranteed success, however, he would be an unimaginable upgrade on Hojlund in one department right off the bat.
Benjamin Sesko is the physical monster Ruben Amorim wants up front
Any signing made by Manchester United this summer has shared one common theme, that being that they have all been physical upgrades on their predecessors.
Sesko would be no different in this regard, as he would be bigger, stronger and quicker that Hojlund, however, he also posseses immense athleticism which can be seen in his incredible aerial ability as he often leaps to double his height in the air.

This is almost a Cristiano Ronaldo-esque ability from the Slovenian forward, or another comparison would be that Sesko has Zlatan Ibrahimovic ability in the air, and conviniently he idolises the Swedish legend of football.
Sesko, like Ibrahimovic, stands at a whopping 6ft 5in tall, which is giant for a player who posseses such speed and agility, with his jump taking him to a whopping 8ft 8in in the air according to one test RB Salzburg conducted in 2022.
Sesko thrives by utilising his physical attributes to his advantage, and his teammates would also benefit from his ability to reach high crosses, something Hojlund unfortunately doesn’t possess.
Benjamin Sesko is absolutely perfect for two Manchester United players in particular
Signing Sesko would be an excellent move for United, and one which could be huge benefit for his potential teammates due to the option he would provide in the air from crosses.
Mbeumo was in the 100th percentile among his positional peers for crosses completed, with 49 over the course of the 2024/25 season, meaning if he were to once again be crossing the ball a lot, Sesko would win headers.
Another beneficiary would be Patrick Dorgu, with the Dane starting to show his class for United with some excellent pre-season performances which includes top level crossing.
Far too often, United players are crossing the ball with little options aerially which is usually a bit of a waste, but Sesko offers that something different.
