Alhaji Bashir Aliyu Abara Gummi, the Zamfara State Coordinator of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), has been abducted by bandits.

Gummi was kidnapped while traveling to Abuja for an official meeting on behalf of the Zamfara State Government, while other members of his entourage managed to escape.

Sources reveal that his family initially gathered ₦16 million as ransom, which the kidnappers accepted but later refused to release him. They have now increased their demand to ₦44 million and 10 motorcycles.

A family source has urged the state government to intervene urgently, as the kidnappers had set a deadline of February 6, 2025.
