Joash Amupitan, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), says the commission will not take any action that could violate a court order in the leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Amupitan spoke during an interview on Arise TV on Thursday while addressing the crisis involving factions led by David Mark and Nafiu Bala.
On Wednesday, INEC announced that it would no longer recognise the factions of the ADC led by Mark and Bala after reviewing a court of appeal judgment.

On Thursday, Bolaji Abdullahi, national publicity secretary of the ADC, said the party will go ahead with its congresses and convention despite the position of INEC on its leadership dispute.
