The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, says Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is getting well and will soon return from his medical leave abroad to continue his duty as governor.

The commissioner said she and some of Akeredolu’s aides had a Zoom meeting with him last week and saw that he was fast recuperating.

Ademola-Olateju, in an interview with our correspondent in Akure on Tuesday,  said, “Even though Mr Governor hasn’t told me to say this, he told me personally a few days ago that he is grateful to every one of us. About five days ago, the governor was on Zoom with us, the executive members, to discuss things that have to do with the state.

“So, I am bold to say Mr Governor is recovering very fast but since I am not a doctor, I can’t say when he’s coming back but having seen him, heard him, and the remarkable improvement that I’ve seen, I know that Mr Governor will soon be here.”

The governor had early June written to the Ondo State House of Assembly that he was proceeding on medical leave abroad, while he handed over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to function as acting  Governor.
