The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the promotion of 19 Air Vice Marshals (AVMs) and 33 Air Commodores (Air Cdres) following the Air Force Council’s recent meeting.

In a Statement Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Group Captain Kabiru Ali said this decision reflects the Council’s commitment to recognizing excellence, dedication, and service within the force.
He said the newly elevated officers have shown exceptional leadership, professional competence, and dedication in various operational and administrative roles. Their promotions are part of the NAF’s ongoing efforts to enhance its command structure and operational readiness.

Promoted to AVM are Osichinaka Ubadike, Olusola Akinboyewa, Olasunkanmi Abu, Yohanna Katabiya, Nosiru Folaji, David Pwajok, Albert Bot, Ibitayo Ajiboye, Mikail Abdulraheem, Kennedy Mataluwo, and Gbolahan Oremosu, among others.
Those elevated from Group Captain to Air Cdre include Abdulahi Abu, Sani Ma’aji, Olamiju Obasa, Eyo Benson, Bashiru Amunemi, and Nkechi Esionye-Uzodinma, along with many others across the NAF’s operational commands.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, congratulated the newly promoted officers, urging them to view their ranks as calls to greater responsibility. He reiterated the Air Force’s resolve to reward professionalism and loyalty in furthering its mission to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

The Nigerian Navy Board has approved the promotion of 146 senior officers to various ranks, marking a significant milestone in the service’s leadership structure.

In a statement signed by Commodore A. Adams-Aliu on Thursday, December 19, 2024, the breakdown of the promotions revealed that 24 Commodores elevated to the rank of Rear Admiral, 26 Captains promoted to Commodore and 96 Commanders advanced to Captain.
Among the officers elevated to Rear Admiral are Ibrahim Mohammed-Katsina, Suleman Dahun, Abolade Olanrele Ogunleye, and Vincent Burabari Gbaranwi, along with 20 others. These officers will now assume greater responsibilities in the service’s operations and administration.
The 26 officers promoted to Commodore include Mohammed Ahmed Abdullahi, Kabir Umar Rabiu, Uche Aneke, and Temitope Adeshola Bamidele, reflecting a commitment to bolstering leadership across various commands.
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, extended congratulations to the newly promoted officers and their families. He charged them to remain steadfast in their duties, loyal to the nation, and committed to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
