Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the  house of representatives, says President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 elections in Kaduna state by a landslide.

Abbas spoke on Wednesday when he led a delegation of Kaduna politicians to meet with the president at the presidential villa, Abuja.

The speaker, who hails from Kaduna, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) has 100 percent acceptance in the state.

“As you can see, this is Kaduna in summary: comrade Shehu Sani represents the central zone of Kaduna, which we call zone two, and distinguished senator Sunday Marshall is from zone three, which is the southern zone of Kaduna, and I represent the northern zone,” Abbas said.

“We are here to pay a courtesy visit to Mr president, our father, to brief him about the progress of APC in Kaduna, and to tell him that APC has been accepted 100% in all the nooks and crannies of Kaduna, and to assure him that 2027 is guaranteed — a landslide from zone one to three.

“In the other dispensations, the acceptability of APC in Kaduna was just limited to zone one and zone two. But because of the governor’s ingenuity, he has been able to reach out to zone three, which used to be predominantly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to join us in the APC. Today, APC is the dominant party in all three zones.”

Also speaking, Katung, who recently defected from the PDP to the APC, said efforts were ongoing to consolidate support for Tinubu and the governor ahead of the upcoming elections.

“We have done our homework, and we are still working to woo those who are still on the sidelines. We have seen what the president has done, particularly in my senatorial district. He has given us a university and a federal medical centre,” he said.

“The governor has done so many projects in our senatorial district that never happened before. That is inclusiveness, and that is why we are embracing the APC wholeheartedly.”

On his part, Sani described the political alignment as historic, noting that the state’s long-standing north-south voting divide was narrowing.

“Kaduna state was the old capital of northern Nigeria, and since 1999, the northern part of the state has been voting either APP, CPC and APC,” he said.

“But the southern part, which is predominantly Christian, has been voting for the PDP. This is the first time in the history of our state where the Muslim north and the Christian south are all united and resolved to re-elect governor Uba Sani and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.”

Sani said the people of Kaduna resolved to support Tinubu and the governor over “verifiable achievements on the ground” that have improved their standard of living.
