○ ‘Cost Incentives, Juicy Blocks That Guarantee RoI:’ What the Commission’s Chief Executive, Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, Told Global Investors At ADIPEC 2026
The Nigerian Government, through the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), on Monday picked November 20, 2026 to hoist the 2026 oil licensing round on its portal.
Platforms Africa reports that the bid round is offering 40 blocks across land, shallow water and deepwater terrains.

The Commission’s Chief Executive Officer, Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, announced the November 20 date to investors during the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, declaring that the juicy blocks up for bid guarantee return on investment for prospective bidders.
“What we are saying is that energy sovereignty and security can be guaranteed through partnership. We are expecting that investors will turn to Nigeria in particular on this,” she said.
“We are going for another big round and the portal will be open for this on the 20th of November, and we expect to see interesting investors like you coming to Nigeria, because again, the environment is a lot more competitive.
“We have very good reviews. For investors, the entire government is a lot more secure, and we’ve been able to manage cost with a lot of incentives for investors. So, the result to investors is quite good, and we expect to see investors turn up for the offers,” Eyesan declared.
The Commission had earlier said that the new bidding guidelines would require the disclosure of the beneficial owners of every bidder, while the evaluation methodology and results of the exercise would be published more fully.
Eyesan said the announcement followed the approval of President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Petroleum Resources, adding that the blocks would be open to investors with the required technical competence, financial capacity and commitment to develop Nigeria’s petroleum resources.
