The Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, has been sued for allegedly withholding the asset declaration records of former Anambra State governor and National Democratic Party, NDC, presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi Gregory.

The suit, with number FHC/ABJ/CS/2504/2026, was instituted at the Federal High Court, Abuja, on October 15, 2026, by Comrade Abayomi Arabambi.

Arabambi, a Nigerian citizen and registered voter in Ogun State, is demanding the Certified True Copy of Obi’s asset declaration form filed in 2006 and all accompanying documents covering his tenure as governor from March 17, 2006 to March 17, 2014 under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

In a notification letter dated October 30, 2026 to the CCB chairman, his counsel, O. Peter Asimegbe of Fort Legal & Co., said the action was to enforce his client’s rights under the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the Freedom of Information Act, 2011.

The CCB and its chairman are listed as 1st and 2nd respondents.

The letter, titled Notification of Pending Legal Suit Over Your Refusal and Failure to Issue the Certified True Copy of the Asset Declaration Form of Mr Peter Obi Gregory, asked the bureau to take note of the attached court processes.

As of Sunday, there was no indication of CCB’s response, nor whether a hearing date has been fixed.
