Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso gave an update on the goalkeeper’s condition in an interview with TNT Sports after the match, as reported by The Guardian.

“As far as I know he left the stadium conscious … right now he is at the hospital doing precautionary tests … so let’s see … but this is what I know so far,” Alonso said.

The incident prompted boos from some Everton supporters as Martinez was carried off, according to The Guardian’s live coverage of the match.
