Tinubu Celebrates Shettima at 60, Describes VP as Patriot

… Praises deputy’s loyalty, wisdom, leadership of NEC

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described Vice President Kashim Shettima as a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes as he marks his 60th birthday.

The President, in a birthday message on Tuesday, said Shettima had remained a trusted ally and valued colleague, whose loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty had proved invaluable to his administration.

“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes”, Tinubu said.

The President congratulated the Vice President, whom he described as his “brother and partner in steering the ship of our state”, while also rejoicing with his wife, Nana, children, family and  political associates on the milestone.

Tinubu said Shettima’s 60th birthday offered an opportunity to celebrate his distinguished banking career as well as his record of service to Borno State and Nigeria.

He particularly praised the Vice President’s commitment to national progress and unity, noting his years of public service as Governor of Borno State and subsequently as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to the President, Shettima had demonstrated courage, diligence, compassion and a consistent commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians in the different capacities in which he had served.

“I commend him for his years of dedicated public service, first as Governor of Borno State and subsequently as Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“In both capacities, Kashim has demonstrated courage, diligence, compassion and an abiding commitment to improving the lives of the people”, Tinubu said.

The President also acknowledged Shettima’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), his support for the administration and what he described as his unwavering dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Tinubu further commended his deputy’s leadership of the National Economic Council (NEC), saying he had provided purposeful direction in coordinating economic policy and promoting cooperation between the Federal Government and the states.

“As Chairman of the National Economic Council, Shettima has provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policy and fostering collaboration among the Federal Government and the sub-nationals”, he said.

The President said Shettima’s respect for constitutional governance and democratic institutions, as well as his preference for dialogue and consultation, had contributed to strengthening good governance.

Tinubu also expressed appreciation to the Vice President for what he called his steadfast support and partnership in the administration’s efforts to fulfil its promises to Nigerians.

“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration.

“I must thank Vice President Shettima for his steadfast support and partnership as we continue to join hands in delivering the promises of Renewed Hope to Nigerians.

“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams”, the President said.

Tinubu, on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated Shettima on attaining 60 and prayed for continued divine guidance, protection and strength for him.

“May Munificent Allah grant him wisdom and good health, and bless him with many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria,” the President said.
