Davido says He Built His Success Despite Coming from Wealthy Family

Afrobeats star Davido has said that although many people admire “grass-to-grace” success stories, he believes he has carved out a unique legacy as the child of a billionaire.

Speaking in a video circulating online, Davido argued that few children of billionaires have gone on to build globally recognised personal brands and generate substantial wealth independently.

The singer claimed that, beyond Africa, he is unaware of another billionaire’s child who has achieved a similar level of fame and financial success through their own career, asserting that he has made a name for himself in the global music industry.

“Africans usually like the grass to grace story, the young boy that was poor and became rich.. but not to brag, which other billionaire’s child do you know in the world, I am not talking about Africa that has made a name for himself and also made a lot of money? You can’t name one apart from me….”
