According to the Nigeria Football Federation, only six players are yet to report to the Super Falcons’ camp in Casablanca as of Sunday, as the holders stepped up preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Nineteen of the 25 invited players were said to be in camp ahead of Nigeria’s opening Group B match against Malawi on July 28, with head coach Justine Madugu overseeing a training session involving 15 players at the La Noria Club.
The camp received a further boost on Sunday with BK Hacken duo Halimatu Ayinde and Joy Omewa arriving in Casablanca, while Pachuca Tuzas defender Osinachi Ohale and forward Chinwendu Ihezuo were en route to the North African country.
Among the players already in camp are captain Rasheedat Ajibade, first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Shukurat Oladipo, Rofiat Imuran, Glory Ogbonna, Oluwatosin Demehin, Sikiratu Isah and Christy Ucheibe, midfielders Toni Payne and Jennifer Echegini, as well as forwards Asisat Oshoala, Francisca Ordega and Omorinsola Babajide. Goalkeepers Comfort Erhabor and Fatima Oloko are also with the squad.
Six players are still expected to complete the squad, including defender Michelle Alozie, midfielder Deborah Abiodun and forwards Gift Monday, Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi and Uchenna Kanu.
With the bulk of the squad now assembled, preparations have intensified as the nine-time African champions fine-tune plans to begin their title defence on a strong note against Malawi before taking on the other teams in Group B.
