The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has commended the Federal Government and security agencies over the successful release of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement issued Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Information, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda described the rescue as a “reassuring demonstration” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

“Painstaking collaboration worked”

The APC Chairman congratulated all security agencies and Nigerians for the relief after “days of anxiety, uncertainty and emotional anguish.”

He said the safe release was made possible by painstaking collaboration among the nation’s security agencies, working in close coordination with the Federal Government and Oyo State Government.

Yilwatda expressed sympathy for the victims and their families, acknowledging the psychological, emotional and mental trauma they endured in captivity.

He prayed for their “complete healing, renewed strength and the courage to overcome the painful memories of their ordeal.”

Commendation for security forces
The APC National Chairman specifically commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, DSS, NSCDC, local intelligence networks and other emergency agencies.

According to him, the successful outcome underscores the importance of intelligence sharing, inter-agency cooperation and sustained collaboration in confronting the nation’s security challenges.

He also applauded the Oyo State Government for its cooperation, saying the “seamless partnership between both levels of government demonstrates that national security is a shared responsibility that transcends political affiliations.”
