Chelsea have reportedly softened their stance on the future of Enzo Fernandez, with the hierarchy no longer viewing the World Cup winner as untouchable.
Enzo Fernandez has returned to Chelsea training this week and is available for Saturday’s crucial clash against Manchester United, following a two-game suspension.
Manager Liam Rosenior sidelined the Argentine after crossing a line during the March international break, where Fernandez publicly expressed a desire to live in Madrid and flirted with interest from Real Madrid.
While he has since apologized to his teammates and staff, the incident has cast a shadow over his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
Reports suggest that contract negotiations between the club and Fernandez have hit a months-long deadlock over salary terms, with his camp reportedly pushing for a deal worth over £400,000 a week.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea have changed their mind and would be open to the idea of selling Enzo Fernandez this summer.
This comes after news that Chelsea’s pursuit of Alex Scott wasn’t connected to Fernandez’s future at all, but it seems as if the contract issues may be having more of an effect.
At the end of the day, if keeping Fernandez is causing more problems than benefits, then you have to make the difficult decision, especially if he wants to leave.
