Nigerian singer Chike recently opened up about the guidance his mother gave him regarding relationships.
He opened up on this while speaking in a recent interview.

According to him, his mother has repeatedly advised him to avoid being with a woman who is not actively working or contributing to her environment.

He noted that one’s partner should be someone who already has what they’re doing, or else the man would be inheriting a lot of responsibilities.
His words …
“I think everyone should look for a partner that adds value. I personally, my mom has said this thing to me several times that no matter how the love is doing you, no settle with woman wey no get wetin she dey do. She has told me that before that don’t you ever do it. Like I know you as my kid, number one and number two I know women. It’s not someone that is pretending to be doing something. Not that they’d open shop in Lekki but you’re the one paying rent every year.
No matter how you care about that person, if they are not productively adding to the production, environment, don do it. Worse off is if they also have the baggage of family, don’t do it. Cause you know it’s not all of us that are coming from comfortable places.
Family
Maybe you meet an Ada, and she’s the one taking care of her whole family and she’s not productive, you have inherited the family…”
