Francis Odega Opens Up on Mentorship from Sam Loco

Nollywood actor Francis Odega has spoken about the influence legendary actor Sam Loco Efe had on his career and personal life.

He spoke on this while being featured on the ‘Where is the Lie’ podcast.

Speaking about their relationship, Odega revealed that Sam Loco played a major role in shaping his acting journey and work ethic in the film industry.

According to him, the late actor had a unique approach to acting and rarely followed scripts exactly as written.

He noted that he would often follow the veteran actor around just so he can learn to be a better actor.

“Sam Loco taught me a whole lot. Sam Loco no dey read script. Him go look when them write come rephrase am. He was the one who trained me. I been dey carry Sam Loco bag. I was like a PA to him just to learn, and I think I learnt well. That time he treated me like a son and would often call my wife his daughter. Sometimes he would give me money, like 50K to give my wife. I no go lie you, as I reach house na 10K I go come give my wife. She’ll now say, can I call him and thank him, I go come tell her say, no worry I don thank am already. But I don already confess am give my wife…”
