Manchester City dropped points for the second game running by conceding a 94th-minute equaliser at home to Chelsea, having missed a series of opportunities to put that match to bed.

The Premier League title race took another dramatic twist on Sunday, as Chelsea produced a late dagger against Manchester City. Enzo Fernandez’s 94th-minute equaliser – making it 1-1 – prompted wild celebrations in the away section at the Etihad – and in living rooms and pubs across north London.

City looked on course to go within four points of Arsenal, only for the win to be snatched away right at the death. After drawing 0-0 at Sunderland on New Year’s Day, Pep Guardiola’s side have now dropped points in back-to-back Premier League games.

Leaders Arsenal, on the other hand, are putting together a winning run. Saturday night’s nervy 3-2 victory away to Bournemouth puts them six points clear of both City and Aston Villa with less than half of the campaign remaining.

Speaking of Villa, Unai Emery’s men shouldn’t be counted out after they beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 at home on Saturday. It was the perfect response to losing 4-1 to Arsenal on Tuesday evening.
