Ondo Traditional Rulers back Tinubu’s Re-election

Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, traditional rulers (Baales) from Ondo East and West Local Government Areas have declared their support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The traditional rulers based their endorsement on the president’s impactful initiatives and the groundbreaking reforms spearheaded by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Ondo East Council of Baales, Chief Felix Otemuyiwa, praised the minister’s exceptional contributions.

They hailed the minister as the standout performer in the Tinubu administration.

“BTO has implemented sweeping reforms that have completely transformed the passport issuance process,” he stated.

He shared a personal testimony: “I obtained my new passport from the Ile-Oluji passport office in less than two weeks, without paying a single bribe to anyone.

“Otunba Agboola Kelly, Coordinator of the Ondo Elders Movement for Tinubu 2027 and organiser of the meeting, emphasised that ensuring President Tinubu’s victory in 2027 is an imperative mission.

He lauded Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, widely known as BTO, for his role in revitalising the ruling party in Ondo State and broadening its appeal.

The Chairman, Ondo East/ West Federal Constituency, Council of Baales, Chief Alfred Idowu Ogundipe, voiced hope for better days ahead while highlighting the challenges faced by traditional be leaders.

“We receive no salary at all. Our communities are enduring real hardship, yet we work tirelessly to maintain peace and tranquillity in our domains,” he said.

He called on the government to urgently address these concerns.

The event drew over 120 Baales and their spouses from both local government areas, underscoring strong community backing for the President’s agenda.
