Dele Momodu’s latest cry for attention is nothing but the familiar sound of a man who has never had political weight, never built political structures, and never commanded political loyalty, yet somehow believes Nigeria must pause and listen to him.
Let’s set the record straight:
Dele Momodu was NEVER in APC.
He was NEVER in Labour Party.
And even inside the PDP where he has been lurking for years, he has been NOTHING but a loud mouth with zero electoral value, zero influence, and zero relevance.
His entire political career consists of commentaries, press interviews, and dramatic monologues not achievements, not leadership, and certainly not credibility. He has contested NOTHING successfully, influenced NOTHING meaningfully, and contributed NOTHING strategically to national stability.
Yet this same man now wants to lecture a nation on governance, institutions, and democratic values?
This is the same Dele Momodu who loudly paraded himself as a “presidential aspirant” in the PDP only to collapse at the starting line because even his own ward could not take him seriously. He was a spectator in the primaries, not a contender. His entire impact in the PDP has been noise, hashtags, and poorly timed opinion pieces.
And worst of all, he now pretends to be a moral authority while biting the very hands that helped him rise. During the NADECO struggles, Bola Ahmed Tinubu stood for him, supported him, and protected him, even when Momodu had nothing not a constituency, not a foundation, not a platform. Yet today, he shamelessly repackages ingratitude as “courage.”
His new claim of aligning with ADC , a party he has not even officially registered with is just the latest chapter in his consistent pattern of political unseriousness. Only Dele Momodu can declare himself part of a party he hasn’t joined. His voice is always louder than his actions.
And this hysterical statement that Nigeria is “sliding into fanatical governance”?
Pure melodrama.
The trademark of someone who has mistaken theatrical commentary for national importance.
The truth is brutal but necessary:
Dele Momodu has never been a political force.
He has never been a political strategist.
He has never been a political stakeholder.
He is an overhyped commentator whose relevance peaked in the magazine era not in the political arena.
He speaks loudly because silence would expose how little he matters.
He insults institutions because they don’t revolve around him.
He criticises defectors because nobody defects to him.
He attacks leaders because his own political shadow has faded into thin air.
Nigeria is not sliding into anything, it is simply refusing to bow to the inflated ego of a man who has spent decades mistaking noise for relevance.
Until he officially joins ADC or any party willing to adopt his wandering voice his comments remain exactly what they are:
Empty noise from a man who has never been, and will never be, a political factor.
