The Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC has asked the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar should run as the Vice Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress , ADC and allow Mr Peter Obi to be the party’s Presidential candidate for 2027 general polls.

According to OYC, the pairing of the two politicians with Obi as the star candidate, is the only calculation the ADC can use to defeat the incumbent, President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

The President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Igboayaka O. Igboayaka who gave the advice in statement he issued on Monday, said that Peter Obi will create a national rebirth of Nigeria if elected President of Nigeria.

Igboayaka argued that since the National Chairman of ADC is from the Northern region, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar should be selfless by allowing the presidential candidate of the party to come from the South.

“Considering that Southern Nigeria is slated to complete its tenure in 2031, it has become imperative that the African Democratic Congress ADC, for the 2027 Presidential election is restricted to choose its candidate from Southern Nigeria”, Igboayaka said.

According to the Ohanaeze Youth Council President, the administration of President Bola Tinubu has allegedly failed Nigerians and should be replaced through Peter Obi – Abubakar Atiku ADC ticket.

“For the sake of Nigeria’s rescue, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar should pay a national price by willingly deputizing former Labour Party Presidential Candidate Mr Peter Obi in the 2027 Presidential Election”, he said.

He said that the Ohanaeze Youth Council will not allow any plan to further the marginalization of the Igbo nation.
