Victor Benjamin Fajemirokun, the suspected mastermind behind the murder of Ogun State Federal Road Safety Corps officer, Funmilayo Lasisi and her daughter, Sewa, has been apprehended in Ghana, the Ghana Police Service confirmed during a press conference.

Video footage of the announcement circulating on social media shows authorities detailing the circumstances of his arrest and the evidence that led to it.

Fajemirokun had reportedly fled Nigeria and was hiding at a friend’s residence in Ghana in a bid to evade arrest.

Ghanaian authorities said the suspect was apprehended following the interception of viral videos outlining his alleged involvement in the killings.

He is currently in police custody, and efforts are underway to extradite him to Nigeria.

The killing of Funmilayo Lasisi and her daughter in Iwoye-Ijesa, Ogun State, captured national attention and prompted a swift response from Nigerian law enforcement.

Investigations revealed that the officer and her daughter were lured and murdered, with human remains recovered near the community.

A herbalist, already in custody, confessed that Fajemirokun and associates orchestrated the killings, dismembering the officer and allegedly removing her daughter from the herbalist’s home.
