‎The buzz surrounding Nnamdi Kanu’s sentencing intensifies, as controversial singer, Portable alleges that the IPOB leader was offered 50 billion naira.

‎It would be recalled that Nnamdi Kanu was sentenced to life imprisonment after a Federal High Court in Abuja found him guilty on all seven terrorism‑related counts .

Notably, he was arrested in 2021 and has been in detention, facing trial for terrorism-related charges.

The judge also handed down concurrent terms of 20 years and 5 years for other charges, all to run together.

Details Of Portable’s Claim

‎In a video circulating online, Portable alleged that outspoken Yoruba human‑rights activist, Sunday Igboho was offered 50 billion naira alongside Nnamdi Kanu.

‎However, Nnamdi Kanu declined the offer while Sunday Igboho accepted.

In a recent development, Nnamdi Kanu has been transferred from the DSS facility in Abuja to a correctional centre in Sokoto State.

His lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, confirmed the transfer in a post on the microbiolgging platform, X (formerly Twitter).

It’s worth noting that, prior to the court verdict on Nnamdi Kanu, his lawyer Aloy Ejimakor and his brother Emmanuel were arrested for protesting his release.

The protest was organized by human‑rights activist, Omoleye Sowore, who was also arrested and later released.

Subsequently, Sowore was rearrested over his comment about the Inspector General of Police (IGP), whom he called a ‘goat’.
