A military personnel has urged all Boko Haram fighters to lay down their arms unconditionally, emphasizing that peace can only return when insurgents abandon violence and reintegrate into society.

He noted that numerous opportunities exist for those willing to reform and contribute positively to the nation.

Everyone needs to come on board. Boko Haram should lay their arms unconditionally and be accepted in the community. Opportunities are out there for them; they can be rehabilitated,” he said.

He further stressed that those who turn away from their past negative actions could reach the highest positions in Nigeria, including the presidency.

According to him, continuing in violence is a waste of their potential and time.

An ex-Boko Haram member, if he turns away from his negativity, stands to be the president of this country or hold any position in this country. Why is he wasting his time when he cannot deliver?” he questioned.

The military officer also called on collaborators of the insurgents to see reason quickly and encourage surrender, stressing that collective effort is key to national peace.

He warned that failing to reconcile would prolong conflict and instability.

He explained that rehabilitation programs and societal acceptance are available for those who repent, ensuring they can reintegrate and build productive lives.

According to him, this approach can restore communities affected by the insurgency.

The officer also said that dropping arms is not just a personal decision but a national responsibility, as Nigeria can only regain peaceful coexistence through collective commitment to ending violence.

This is a call to action for all insurgents: surrender your weapons and help us reoccupy our peaceful coexistence again,” he said, urging immediate action for the sake of the nation.
