A member of the United States Congress, Rep. Riley M. Moore, has expressed outrage over Monday’s attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, Maga, in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, where terrorists killed a vice principal and abducted about 25 schoolgirls.

The armed gang reportedly stormed the school in the early hours, shooting sporadically before whisking the students away.

The incident has intensified concerns over the resurgence of mass abductions in the North.

Reacting in a post on his official X handle, Moore claimed the attack took place in a predominantly Christian enclave, insisting that Christians in Nigeria continue to face targeted violence.

He described the incident as part of what he believes is an ongoing pattern of persecution and urged the Nigerian authorities to act decisively.

“Please join me in praying for the 25 girls who have been kidnapped and for the repose of the soul of their vice principal who was killed,” he wrote.

“While we don’t have all the details on this horrific attack, we know that the attack occurred in a Christian enclave in Northern Nigeria.

The Nigerian government must do more to end the rampant violence.”

The Federal Government and security agencies have yet to provide detailed updates on efforts to rescue the abducted students.
