Shooting Stars Sports Club were held to a 1–1 draw by Katsina United in an NPFL26 Matchday 11 fixture on Sunday afternoon at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

The visitors made a lively start, opening the scoring in the 4th minute through Chigozie Ihejiofor, who reacted first to a loose ball in the box to put Katsina United ahead. It was an early blow for the Oluyole Warriors, but they responded with composure and intent.

Their persistence paid off just 10 minutes later, as Ekeocha Chukwudi brought Shooting Stars level with a composed finish following sustained pressure and cohesive build-up play. The equalizer shifted the tempo of the game, with 3SC growing into the contest and taking control of possession.

The home side created a number of chances in the first half, but the visitors remained compact and disciplined in their defensive approach, looking to catch 3SC on the counter.

Coach Nurudeen Aweroro made his first change in the 41st minute, introducing Adegoke Qamar for Promise Awosanmi to adjust attacking dynamics before the break. At the start of the second half, 3SC continued to push for a winner, with Ikuowem Utin narrowly missing the target with a header and Sodiq Ibrahim testing the goalkeeper from range.

In the 61st minute, Adams Mustapha replaced Ismail Ayodele to add fresh energy on the flanks. Later, in a final push for victory, Chidiebere Nnachi and Wasiu Ganiyu were brought on in the 78th minute for Qamar Adegoke and Sodiq Ibrahim, as Aweroro looked to inject pace and creativity in the closing stages.

Despite the tactical shifts and late attacking pressure, Shooting Stars were unable to break through Katsina United’s resilient backline, and the match ended with both sides sharing the spoils.

The Oluyole Warriors now turn attention to the next NPFL fixture away to Enugu Rangers, where the team will look to return to winning ways and build momentum on the road.
