Arsenal have so many incredible players in their squad.

Mikel Arteta has spent a lot of money to build his current side, and every player at his disposal is capable of helping the Gunners win games.

It’s not just through signings that the Arsenal manager has built his squad; he has a few academy graduates delivering for him as well.

Arteta has now heaped praise on one of them.

Mikel Arteta says what Max Dowman is doing at Arsenal is ‘unheard of’

Max Dowman is a superstar in the making at Arsenal.

The 15-year-old has been the talk of the town over the last few months, and everyone who has seen him can’t help but rave about him.

Dowman has played three times for Arsenal’s first team since the start of the campaign, and his performances have been very eye-catching.

In his press conference ahead of the game against Olympiacos, Arteta was asked when he was made aware of Dowman at Arsenal.

The Spaniard replied: “The first conversation was probably with Per [Mertesacker]. We were talking about the talent and what he could see and feel that could reach the level that we needed. Straight away, his name came up.

“Then, we started to look at him, and the way he’s developed himself, and the steps that he’s taken, and the speed he’s taken them, it’s probably unheard of.

“He’s fully with us, he’s part of us, he trains with us, and he’s got the same chances as anybody else.”

Mikel Arteta has the opportunity to break a Champions League record with Max Dowman

Arteta already holds the record of handing a debut to the youngest ever player in the history of the Premier League – Ethan Nwaneri.

Now, the Arsenal manager can achieve a similar feat in the Champions League.

If Arteta gives Dowman an opportunity in Europe’s most prestigious club competition before his birthday in December, he will become the youngest player to make an appearance in Champions League history.

Arsenal take on Olympiacos on Wednesday night, and Dowman is expected to be in the squad. It remains to be seen if he will get a few minutes.
