The Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, Sijibomi Ogundele, has surrendered himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after being declared wanted over an alleged diversion of ₦5.7 billion belonging to the Enugu State Government.

A reliable source within the anti-graft agency confirmed the development on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, stating that Ogundele was immediately taken into custody upon surrendering.
“The Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited has surrendered to our commission, and we immediately took him into custody,” the source said.

The source further disclosed that Ogundele has been under intense interrogation for over 10 hours, following a formal petition submitted by the Enugu State Government.
“We have frozen all his personal and corporate accounts pending the conclusion of our preliminary investigation. His passport has also been seized to restrict his movement,” the source added.
As of the time of reporting, Ogundele has not been granted bail, and interrogation is ongoing.
Confirming the development, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, stated: “Our investigators are still grilling him.”
Ogundele was earlier declared wanted by the EFCC in connection with the alleged misappropriation of state funds earmarked for infrastructure development in Enugu State. His surrender marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation.
