Nigerian students have been encouraged to dedicate themselves to living a life of purpose while remaining focused on God and fully committing themselves to their academic pursuits.

Pastor (Dr.) Wole Oladiyun, Senior Pastor Global of the Christ Livingspring Apostolic Ministry (CLAM), Omole, Lagos, gave this charge during an anointing service and counseling session held by the Ministry for returning students of tertiary institutions in Lagos on Sunday.
According to Pastor Oladiyun, only those who live a life of purpose can enjoy a purposeful and productive life. “There are two categories of people in life, players and spectators. Players make things happen, while spectators watch things happen. Every teenager must choose which category they want to be in. God has created you with a purpose. May you discover it so early in Jesus’ name”, he added.

Pastor Oladiyun warned the students against evil association and negative peer pressure. Citing 1 Cor. 15 v 33: “Do not be deceived: Evil company corrupts good habits”, he said: “Show me your friends, I will predict how your future will be. Choose your friends prayerfully and carefully; Move with friends who will add value to you; Move with friends who will lift your destiny; Don’t move with destiny destroyers; don’t move with careless friends; Don’t move with destiny devaluers; Don’t move with those who will sink your glory and pollute you”.
He also counselled on the following areas:
TIME MANAGEMENT: Eccl. 3 v 1: “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven”. There is time for everything in life; time to study, play, sleep, wake up, etc.; a time waster is a life waster; Invest your time well, don’t spend it anyhow; Use your time positively and productively; Avoid distractions, movies, useless chats, social media when you should be studying.
IMPACT: Phil. 4 v 13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” You are born to make an impact, and you are not too young to make an impact. Study the life of Farrah Gray. (Born Farrakhan Khalid Mohammed). Between the ages of 12 and 16, years, Farrah Gray founded and operated business ventures that included KIDZTEL prepaid phone cards, etc. Today, he impacts the young and old all over the world.
MINDSET: (Thought), Proverbs 4 v 23: “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” Guard your mind with all diligence; feed your mind with positive things; Your thought system will define who you are; Your mind is like the central processing unit of the computer, what you feed in is what you will get; Upgrade your mind positively and be a problem solver; have a success mindset and a problem solving mindset; be a positive minded person; Develop a possibility mindset; develop I can do it mindset; be a dreamer; develop a critical thinking and achiever’s mindset.

Also addressing the students, Pastor (Mrs) Bukola Oladiyun, CLAM’s Director of Family Life and Founder, Voice of Joy and Gladness International Ministry, urged them to focus on their academic, spiritual, mental, and physical well-being.
