Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state – The 2029 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kebbi State, Senator Isa Galaudu, has formally resigned from the party.

Galaudu said his resignation was effective immediately after submitting his resignation letter on Sunday, August 20, 2025.

As reported by The Punch, Galaudu addressed his letter to the PDP ward chairman in Augie North, Muhammadu Danbuga.

The former PDP governorship candidate said his decision was prompted by recent developments within the party.

Galaudu is the former chief of staff to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and ex-Senator representing Kebbi North (2011–2015).

He was a significant political figure in Kebbi State and a strong contender in the 2019 governorship election.

“I write to inform you of my resignation with immediate effect as a member of the PDP.

“It’s obvious that the PDP is being controlled by politicians of the national ruling party.”

He, however, did not indicate the political party he intends to join after resigning from the PDP ahead of the 2027 election.
