Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM1, has tendered an apology over yesterday’s incident involving him and ValueJet at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

He also denied that the flask he carried contained alcohol.

KWAM 1 personally signed a statement on Friday, in which he said the incident was unfortunate.

He explained that he suffers from chronic dehydration and was advised by his doctor to remain constantly hydrated, hence his habit of carrying a water flask.

“Contrary to the negative narrative being circulated, the flask contained only water — not alcohol,” he stated.

K1 said the container was empty during two separate security checks and was only filled at the airport lounge before he proceeded to the tarmac.

He emphasised that he had not boarded the aircraft, “let alone being deboarded,” adding that CCTV footage could confirm his account.

The Fuji legend apologised to the Presidency, the Ministry of Aviation, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, ValueJet, and Nigerians in general for any concerns raised by the incident.
