Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has officially renamed The Polytechnic, Ibadan in honour of the late former governor, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo.

The announcement was made on Thursday during a brief speech by the governor at an interdenominational commendation service held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan.

Makinde declared that the institution would henceforth be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan, in recognition of Olunloyo’s contributions to the state and his role as the pioneer Rector of the institution.

Dr. Olunloyo passed away just weeks before his 90th birthday.
