The family house of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan situated in Obeiba-Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, came under attack on Tuesday, April 16, by armed men.

The attack by the gunmen which took place at about 1:00am left the windows of the Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s family residence damaged but with no injury was recorded.
Close sources said the attackers who stormed the house were heavily armed with cutlasses and guns and smashed windows as well as caused damage to parts of the building, thereby caused panic in the area.

However, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, moved quickly and got the appropriate security agencies informed.
Accordingly, officers and men of the Okehi Police Division act fast by rushing to the scene of the attack.
It was also gathered that before the police could arrive the scene, the armed men vacated the premises to avoid being apprehended.
As a result, no suspect was arrested at the scene but, the police have intensified efforts to get the culprits arrested in due course.
The police officers that visited the scene also took records of the extent of the damage and launched a preliminary investigation.

The reason for the attack was yet to be known even as the police are working to unravel what must have motivated the attackers and their possible sponsors, if any.
Similarly, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan is yet to speak on the unfortunate development.
