The son of the president, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, hosted a cross-section of youths and other stakeholders to an Iftar dinner at the weekend.

Iftar is an evening meal taken at the end of each day of the Ramadan fast by the Muslim faithful across the globe.

The president’s son who was received by a cheering crowd upon his arrival had a brief stopover at the Ikeja Central Mosque, where he met with some top Muslim clerics who acknowledged his selfless efforts, especially his charity across religious divides nationwide.

Speaking at the event, Sheikh Abubakir Mohammed Solaty, the officiating cleric at the event, impressed on Mr. Tinubu the need to keep pursuing all worthy causes that would build peace and socioeconomic progress not only in Lagos state but across the country, noting that all-well Nigerians would continue to support Mr. President’s Renewed Hope agenda for the country.

The cross-section of the youth, who graced the occasion under the aegis of the Young Progressives in Lagos State, included political appointees, amongst other interest groups within the Southwest region.

It would be recalled that Mr. Tinubu has been on a tour of duty as part of his Renewed Hope Youth Engagement where he visited several northern states since the beginning of the Ramadan fast.

His visit to his home base in Lagos was therefore seen as a continuation of his tour of duty to extend his goodwill towards the Lagos state youths and other stakeholders.

Amongst his entourage included the Minister of Youth, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, the Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) Charles Odii, Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Khalil Suleiman Halilu.
