Former Aide-de-Camp to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Major General Christopher Jemitola (retd), on Thursday, February 6, 2025, suddenly collapsed and died at the IBB Golf Club, off Aso-drive, Maitama-Abuja.

A Source at the IBB Golf Club said that sprited and swift efforts made by rushing him to the hospital did not yield any positive result as he was pronounced dead on arrival.
General Jemitola (retd) served as Obasanjo’s ADC from 2002 to 2007 when he was a Colonel and demonstrated commitment and unwavering dedication to duty.

His military career later soared following his appointment as Director, Defence Information before his posting on foreign mission as Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Brazil.
The late Jemitola also held the critical position of Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) of the Nigerian Army, where his strategic insights shaped military operations.
After his retirement from service, General Jemitola (retd), moved to the private sector while at the same time served as Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited.
The family is yet to issue a statement on the passage of Jemitola and burial arrangement.
