The Centre for Digital Humanities, University of Lagos, has announced the appointment of Tim Akano, the CEO of New Horizons Nigeria, as an Advisory Board Member and Platinum Partner.

The centre bridges the gap between computer science and humanities by leveraging cutting-edge digital tools to foster innovative research, impactful scholarship, and societal transformation. It also equips graduates with essential 21st-century skills that prepare them for the workforce and drive meaningful societal change.
The centre began as a modest research unit in 2015, following Professor Ope-Davis’s return from Germany. Inspired by his exposure to digital humanities principles and with the support of equipment provided by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, he established Nigeria’s first Digital Humanities Lab at the University of Lagos.
