Plenty of different names have been rumoured with a switch to Arsenal, but one of those features former player Tomas Rosicky.

The midfielder played for the Gunners for 10 years, featuring in some of the best moments the club has ever seen.

In 246 appearances, Rosicky scored 28 times and assisted 23, before moving on to join Sparta Prague.

He called a day on his career 18 months later, retiring in December 2018 before going on to eye a role as a director.

Rosicky is currently the sporting director at Sparta Prague, playing a hand in the vision for the club with an impressive record.

With six years of experience under his belt, a return to Arsenal could be on the cards as the Guardian reports that he is currently “leading” the race to become the club’s next sporting director.

It’s claimed that Rosicky has remained in close contact with those in the hierarchy, while he is believed to be close to Mikel Arteta and Per Mertesacker.

Rosicky was a trusty servant at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger, with the midfielder often helping the side keep games under control.

The Czech Republic international was often underrated for his contributions to the side, and sometimes overlooked for his displays.

Wenger set the record straight in 2015, when he said: “He was wonderful. A player we all love. If you love football, you love Rosicky.”
