The Federal Government has earmarked over N2bn for the repair/renovation of the Federal Ministry of Justice headquarter’s buildings in Abuja and the Lagos zonal office/ alternative power system in the 2025 budget.

According to the appropriation bill, a sum of N2, 027,859,896 is projected for the renovation and another N200m for the maintenance of office buildings and residential quarters, while N15m is set aside for the maintenance of office furniture.

Additionally, N20m was earmarked for the maintenance of office/IT equipment and N40m for the maintenance of plants and generators.

Meanwhile, in 2024, the Federal Government allocated N971,946,606m for the repair/renovation of the Federal Ministry of Justice headquarter and Lagos zonal office.

President Bola Tinubu had on Wednesday, December 18, presented the N49.7tn appropriation bill titled “The Restoration Budget, Securing Peace, building prosperity” before the joint session of the National Assembly.

Following the presentation, both the Senate and the House of Representatives, at their separate plenaries on Thursday, December 19, passed the budget for a second reading. [The Punch]
